Meet the magical Ryuunu Species, the most loyal, fluffy and huggable Closed Species you will find!

What is a Ryuunu?

A mystical creature based in a dragon and a dog together. It is said they will bring happiness and good luck to the people that can get one. Read all the Wiki to learn everything about them!

The Ryuunu Species is a Closed Species.

What is a Closed Species?

A Closed Species is a creature species created by a specific someone, usually an artist. The individuals of a Closed Species are only designable by the creator or by those who have permission. The therm "CLOSED" refers to that fact, those without permission can't design an individual of a Closed Species.

A Closed Species always have Closed Traits specific of that Species and no other. ONE trait alone will never do a Closed Species, but a combination of them yes; that's what is it about.

Even with these rules, that doesn't mean no one can design an individual or getting one. The creator usually does events or other kind of stuff to let people either design individuals or to get them for cash or other means. The therm "CLOSED" refers to the permissions, you can always ask to the creator and be sure before doing a step on your own, you will be more safe.

Ryuunu Species is a Closed Species, and this means you cannot design an individual without permission. This permission will either be via Contest, MyO Ticket, Open Time and similars. That doesn't mean you can't draw them, though! If you don't own a Ryuunu but you feel like drawing existent ones, GO AHEAD!

Everyone is welcome to the community, they own a Ryuunu or not, so feel free to join us at the Ryuunu Mountains!

The Closed Traits of the Ryuunu Closed Species are the specific combination of their anatomy traits (some from dragons, some from dogs), and specially the horns shape. You can find more details in the Ryuunu Biology part below.

Where does the Ryuunu name come from?

The name "Ryuunu" comes from the words "Ryuu" and "Inu" which mean "dragon" and "dog" in Japanese. Both "Ryuunu" and "Ryûnu" are correct.

What's the Ryuunu biology?

Ryuunu is a combination between a dragon and a dog; giving them mythological characteristics like a back mane, long dragon whiskers, dragon tail, etc., as well as canine characteristics like ears, body fur, dog paws and the like. Characteristics of this species are drawn from both species, some from dragons and some from dogs, and the specific features never change.

Draconic features include whiskers, horns, back mane, tail, eyes and scales. Canine features include ears, paws, the main body shape and paws. The shape of the ears and the fur's pattern vary depending on the breed of dog used. Ryuunu eyes are able to see in the dark like dragons and can also resist wind and dust. Since they are not only dogs and are partially dragons, they are much larger than normal dogs, but they still maintain the same relative proportions between various dog breeds.

What are Ryuunu sex differences?

There are THREE clear differences between MALE and FEMALE Ryuunu:

  1. Firstly, females have longer and sharper eye corners.
  2. Secondly, females horns have splitted tips, having two tips instead of one.
  3. Thirdly, females have whiskers in the starting part of their tail, having a total of 4 whiskers in their body.
  4. And forth but not always visible difference is their Genitalia.

Genitalia

Males and females can be already distinguished by their horns, eye corners and whiskers; their genitalia is hidden inside the body like reptiles, but separated from anus like dogs. Ryuunu are hot blooded creatures but their bits are very sensitive and not covered by foreskin, so they need to be protected inside their bodies.

Retracted

To know if a Ryuunu is male or female, don't look to their crotch when retracted because it's useless. Both genitalia look exactly the same from the outside. You must check eye corners, horns or whiskers for that!

Male

Male Ryuunu have one single retractable penis, soft and with soft spikes with dragon scales shape on its top. The head is trangular with some more soft spikes and the sperm hole in the triangle's inner part. The penis has a colorline that goes from the head to the sides, which glows in some Ryuunu. These color lines are used to attract a partner in the mating season. Balls are attached to the base of the penis and they may have different designs like having scales or extra glowing parts. Every male Ryuunu has their own genitalia colors, they can vary lots!

Female

Covered by soft dragon scales, its inside is soft, jelly and warm. Their clitoris may glow. Every female Ryuunu has their own genitalia colors, they can vary lots!

Mating Behaviour

Mating Season

Ryuunu mating season varies a bit depending on their elements, but most of them do it in Spring. Males are who go for the females research, and when they find one the males show their bits proudly, doing a flying dance with their long bodies. If their bits glow they may attract females more easily. In case two male Ryuunu will want to attract the same female, they can either just wait her to choose or battle each other. Usually wins the Ryuunu with Element advantage, so those Ryuunu that are multi-elemented have more chances to get the desired partner. Females also have the last word anyway, if they don't like a male, they with fight against him if necessary, always as a last resort, since Ryuunu are peaceful creatures.

Mating Requirements

In general, Ryuunu are monogamous. They usually have one partner only, and if their partner dies they may find another or not depending on their own personality (that personality may also create the need to have lovers). Ryuunu are able to find a partner and to mate from the moment they become ADULTS. However, to lay eggs they need a special item called RYUUNU FLOWER.

Copulation

Before the copulation, the female is who takes the lead and calls the male with a seductive flight. When the male gets attracted, he flies towards her and coils around her body, slowly falling to the ground. Once in there, male coils her tail and penetrates her gently.

Eggs

Females Sperm Cavity

Once females are Adults, they can save sperm from one male to use afterwards when they will want (with exceptions explained below). Therefore, even if a male dies being an Adult but mated with an Adult female when alive, the female will still be able to lay an Egg of that male. Females can only save one type of sperm though, so if they mate with another male, they must decide if opening this cavity to replace the cum inside or not.

Eggs Lay

Even if all females can save sperm from males since they are Adults, this doesn't mean they can always use it to produce and lay an Egg. To produce an egg, a very specific hormone is needed and only immortal Ryuunu can produce it. This doesn't mean to be impossible neither! There is a flower called the Ryuunu Flower that helps them to produce the hormone if they eat one. They can either wait to be old enough to be immortal or to generate the hormone in a forced way like getting premature immortality or eating a Ryuunu Flower.

Special Eggs

Some eggs may not have been laid naturally, like the Event ones. Those eggs have been created crossing DNA from other creatures with the Ryuunu DNA, creating new special Ryuunu with very special traits, colors and maybe even accessories. These eggs are "laid" in the Ryuunu Temple, created by Ryuunu God's will.

Eggs Characteristics

Once the female decides to use the sperm, an egg will be laid after 3 weeks. This egg usually has one fetus inside only, but it may happen that it has two or, even more rarely, three or more. The eggs have patterns with colors related to the main Element the Ryuunu will have! If that egg has more than one Ryuunu inside though, it can't be known until it hatches (or with X-Ray), since the pattern doesn't show that. The pattern includes whiskers color, horns colors and fur general colors (maybe even hinting the Ryuunu fur pattern). Sometimes, the egg also gets an accessory when laid. And in that case, will be an important accessory for the new Ryuunu and will also be considered in their Rarity Points genetics. Eggs also show their main element floating around it. For example, if the Egg is of a Fire Ryuunu, that egg will have a spinning flame around it, to protect the egg from foreign attacks.

Eggs Hatch

The Ryuunu egg will hatch after 6 months without the need of parents warm, just needing their protection and care. Besides, is very important that parents are next to the egg while it hatches, because the newborn treats Ryuunu who is scented first as the parents. The limit of eggs a female can lay during their life is a max of 4. Males can give their sperm to as many females as they want thouth. When an egg hatches, the little newborn will need to be nursed by a female, usually their biological mother.

What's the Ryuunu main behaviour?

Ryuunu species, just like dogs, can be very social and on top of everything, the most loyal creature in the world. And just like dogs, specially males, Ryuunu can be very territorial. Besides, depending on their dog breed they can be more violent or less social. And since they are partly dragons, they are mostly very intelligent (there can be silly individuals, like always!) and can perfectly learn to understand human languages after hearing them enough. They can also learn to talk those languages thanks to their draconic flairs. Ryuunu are not violent by nature, but if they feel threatened, they can use their elemental powers to fight.

Where do Ryuunu live? IN THE RYUUNU MOUNTAINS ISLAND!

Ryuunu live in The Ryuunu Mountains Island. This island is floating, always moving between the clouds and invisible from human eyes, since the base of the island is made of a rare and reflective mineral, the Ryuunite. The island has very different biomes and separated by mountains forming a circle with a lake in the middle. Each mountain has a different climate, causing each Ryuunu to live in the one they find most comfortable for them.
